Challenge Round 07: November 5-12

Okay, so I know I haven't really been active in this community so far, but yokozuki asked me if I'd jump in and volunteer to come up with this week's challenge, so I did. Some of my challenges are oddly ridiculous, which is weird considering that I don't really read or write much humor myself. XP Anyway, I hope you guys enjoy these challenges!

1. Phrase: humorous phrase (inspired by random conversation with friends)
(a) "You think I'm in love with my guitar?"
(b) "I didn't know you could use drumsticks for that."
(c) A Clue-related phrase, but without any reference to Clue. (i.e. "with the lead pipe in the bathroom" or "with the rope in the library")
(d) "I'm not gay, I'm...heterosexually challenged."

2. Themed: two objects
(a) oranges + dildo
(b) paint + glasses
(c) train ticket + snowglobe
(d) tinfoil + feathers
(e) highlighter + piano
(f) underwear + flowers

3. Themed: emotion + setting
(a) fear + graveyard
(b) anger + train
(c) jealousy + office building
(d) glee + boat
(e) hope + park
(f) sadness + lake/ocean

4. Kink + band members: any band/artist
(a) orgy + at least 4 members
(b) bondage + guitarist x guitarist
(c) voyeurism + drummer x vocalist (you may include a third member if you choose to take the prompt this way)
(d) masochism + bassist x drummer
(e) bloodplay + bassist x vocalist

5. Form
(a) Write a fic of at least 1,000 words with no dialogue. In present tense.
(b) Write a fic with exactly 500 words. No more, no less. Exactly.

6. Round Robin:
Continue this round robin or start one of your own.


You can also request fics from me. I'll do my best to fulfill them, but I can't make any promises about my timeliness, as usual.

Haha...I was really hesitant about adding #4, but I do know a couple of people in this community who do write good kink, so I decided to chance it. XP

Well, you may not write piles of stuff aimed to be nothing but humor, but you do have your lighthearted and cracked moments... those are definitely your sort of humor. Especially the first one. Weren't you the one who wrote the Uruha/guitar/Ruki fic? XD

Yeah, I guess I do. XP I've just never really thought of myself as a humor writer, because I've typically been so bad at it in the past. But yes, I did write the Uruha/guitar/Ruki fic. XP

Well, no, I wouldn't call you "a humor writer." I'd call you a drama and romance writer. But the parts where you show a sense of humor and the characters aren't constantly tense/angst-ridden/serious are what I've always enjoyed most of your fics. The drama seems more natural by contrast when they're being dorks now and then, the characters seem more whole. *g* And I loved the UxGxR. Calling it that is amusing to me in itself. XD;

Ah, as for my request... Hmm... I'd love to see either something Kagrra, (I'm not picky about the pairing when it comes to them xP) or Kyo/Gara. o.o Whichever you feel inspired to write, in whatever setting and genre.

Hm. I'd love something with Gackt. No GacktxHyde though, sorry. If you write Mana, then GacktxMana. If not, how about GacktxShinya? I'd be happy with either one of those pairings. ^-^ Any genre except for angst is okay, and as for ideas... *thinks* something realistic yet sweet. And if there's sex, the focus shouldn't be all in that.

I think you've managed to request the one thing I completely cannot write. I can't write Mana in fanfiction, because I hate him with a burning passion, and it would kill me to pair him with Gackt. Pairing Gackt with members of Diru is something that I've always found to be unabashedly stupid.

I'm sorry, because I hate to turn down a request, but I literally cannot make myself write either of those. If you could request something more in line with anything in my challenge profile (http://community.livejournal.com/last_pleasure/587.html), that would be a lot better.

I did read your profile earlier too, and you said in it that you'd write pretty much any pairing. So I thought I'd ask if you wrote Mana. (Maybe you should put it in the profile that you will not under any circumstance write him? ^^ Just a suggestion, since I did the same with mine so that no-one asks me the two pairings I'll never write.)

Okay... I can't really think of any other person I'd want to read with Gackt than those too (maybe except for Yoshiki but I'm guessing you won't write him) so I guess I don't request anything, then.

Actually, I would write Yoshiki x Gackt, though I'd have to get some idea of where to start with it. I suppose I could write Die x Shinya, if you gave me an idea, because honestly, I'm pretty hopeless with the Diru members. I'm not big on writing fic with them, so unless you gave me an idea, I'd be lost, and frankly, it could still suck amazingly in the end because I'm not really a Diru fan in the strictest sense.

If you can decide between those two, I suppose I could write something for one of them.

And honestly, I will write almost any pairing if it's between members who are on my list, but MM/M10M/Mana are not on my list. And pairing Diru members with other JRockers is something that has long annoyed me, for various reasons, and pairing anyone like that with Gackt is a bother to me, as I'm especially covetous of Gackt. What I said for members of Dir en grey specifically basically goes for anything you want me to write about them--unless you can sell me on the pairing, and unless you can give me a very good idea, writing members of Diru is always iffy for me. Honestly, you frankly just managed to pick two pairings that I definitely won't write, through amazing luck of some sort.

I honestly couldn't decide which pairings I wouldn't write, because I don't have the imagination for interband pairings, so it would only be as soon as someone asked me about Gackt x Shinya or something like that that I'd even think of it as a possibility, hence the fact that "pairings I'll never write" aren't on there.

I know Mana or his bands are not in your list but you said yourself that: "If you're interested in me writing another band, and you can direct me to anywhere that has good translated interviews, I can probably do that as well." So I thought I'd suggest Mana. Aw, I hope I don't sound bitchy in my comments here because I feel like I do. That's not intentional, I'm just having a bad day. x_x Anyway, I wasn't suggesting you to create a "pairings I'll never write" -list, just saying that if you know for sure that Mana is the person you'll never write it might be wise to put it in your profile - I'm not saying you should, I just go with the fact that if I'd have a person I'll never write fics of I would say it in my profile, no matter if I had his band listed or not. But not anyone does things like I do and that's fine. *laughs*

Hm. I have no idea for GacktxYoshiki, so let's leave that pairing alone. And the DiexShinya idea I mentioned is this: Shinya receives a necklace from a fan and starts using it which makes Die jealous and wanting that Shinya would only use the jewellery he gives him. It isn't anything special. If you think that you could write something from it it would be nice but since you think that writing about Diru is iffy for you, there's no need for you to make yourself write it. I know from experience how hard it is to try and make yourself write about a pairing or a band member you for a reason or another don't like or find hard to write about, so it's totally okay if (and when) you don't write anything from the idea. Honestly I don't mind. ^^

Hrm...well, when I said that, I usually mean it for indies bands, because I think that it's kind of understood in fandom that everyone would know about MM/M10M.

I might be able to come up with my own idea for Gackt x Yoshiki, given time, because I'm actually rather familiar with both of them. As to your Die x Shinya idea, I'm not really good at that kind of fluff, but we'll see if I can get something to come out for one of those.

Not everyone knows about those bands. For example, I do know that they exist but the only person I know something about is Mana himself, and I hardly know enough about him. ^^ Not that I'd know anything about most indies bands either... Yeah, this is pointless. ^^

Hm, now that I've thought about the GacktxYoshiki more, perhaps it could be something about their band. Still not real ideas but maybe something you could get your own ideas of, if the other pairing won't work. ^^ (Oh, and the reason I thought that you wouldn't write Yoshiki is that you don't have him or X Japan in your list either. ^^)
